  • 🚨 NAKAKAGULAT! 62 ANYOS NA PASAHERO, NAHULOG SA DAGAT HABANG NASA BARKO! 😱

    Hangga't may hininga, may pag-asa. πŸ™β€οΈ

  • Chandler is considered a founder of the hard-boiled school of detective fiction. Mention his name, and private detective Philip Marlowe immediately springs to mind. Chandler coined the phrase “down these mean streets,” and Marlowe lives on them. It’s a rough place for a compassionate guy with a more noble sense of purpose than accumulating wealth and power. Marlowe’s compassion makes him vulnerable, and so he plays a tough guy to the world, using wisecracks as his defense against whatever that world throws at him.

“Blackmailers Don’t Shoot” is Chandler’s first mystery story, written when he was 44. All the dames, guns, gangsters, shady dealings, lies, deceptions, crooked cops, fights, tough guy talk, and elements of the mythical quests knight Marlowe feels compelled to pursue are there. But not yet the Marlowe name. That change doesn’t happen until 1939 in “The Big Sleep.” In 1933, he’s Mallory, and at center stage, in a swanky club attempting to blackmail a beautiful movie star over love letters she’d long ago sent to a gangster. She dismisses the attempt, leaves the club, and is kidnapped. Mallory leaves later, only to be strong-armed into the middle of a falling out among gangsters over her kidnapping. He turns the situation to his advantage, leading to the Star’s ultimate rescue, the death of her gangster ex-boyfriend, and the return of her letters. But Mallory has more left to do. Chandler likes it that way.

  • WHEN THE EARTH SHAKES, DO NOT IGNORE THE WARNING.

The devastating flash floods in Nepal are a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile life can be. In moments like these, we are reminded that no human being can control tomorrow, and no earthly possession can guarantee another day.

Jesus warned us that there would be signs in the earth and among nations, and He repeatedly called people to watch, repent, remain awake, and be ready.

These tragedies should never be used to condemn victims or claim that we know exactly why a disaster happened. Instead, let them awaken our hearts.

Life is short. Eternity is real. Time is precious.

Do not wait for another disaster before turning your heart toward God. Forgive while you still can. Love while you still have time. Help those who are suffering. Pray for the families who lost loved ones and for those still missing. And most importantly, make sure your relationship with God is not something you keep postponing.

«“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” — Matthew 24:42»

The greatest warning is not meant to produce fear—it is meant to lead us to repentance, faith, compassion, and readiness.

Watch the signs. Guard your heart. Help the broken. Seek God while He may be found. And be ready—not because we know the day or hour, but because we do not.

πŸ™ Lord, comfort those affected by this tragedy, strengthen the rescuers, protect those still missing, and awaken hearts everywhere to the value of life and the hope found in You. Amen.

  • 3. The SS Ourang Medan (The Legendary Myth)According to maritime lore, in the late 1940s, ships navigating the Straits of Malacca picked up a terrifying SOS distress call from a Dutch freighter: “All officers dead... I die.” When a rescue vessel named the Silver Star located and boarded the Ourang Medan, they reportedly uncovered a horrific scene. The Clues: The entire crew, including the ship's dog, were dead—frozen in place with their eyes wide open, arms outstretched, and faces twisted in expressions of absolute terror. Yet, there were no physical wounds or signs of violence anywhere on their bodies. Before a thorough investigation could begin, a sudden fire broke out in the cargo hold, forcing the rescuers to flee right before the ship exploded and sank. The Reality Check: While theories blame chemical leaks or illegal nerve gas, historians and investigators have confirmed that the SS Ourang Medan is almost certainly a hoax. No official records of a ship by that name exist in any global shipping registries, and historical tracking points to the story being an embellished fiction generated by an Italian writer in 1940.

Elephants rescue people trapped by flood. I hope we are the same when it comes to animals, we value nature so we can take care of them as they do for us.

  • Death Toll Rises as Hundreds Remain Missing
'Rising temperatures have accelerated glacier melt, altered snow cover dynamics and contributed to the rapid formation and expansion of glacial lakes, many of which are dammed by unstable moraine structures, and are prone to unexpected outbursts capable of generating destructive downstream flooding.'

Meanwhile, after floods sparked by heavy rain in Nepal in 2024, scientists from World Weather Attribution said that climate change had worsened the floods.

'If the atmosphere wasn't overloaded with fossil fuel emissions, these floods would have been less intense, less destructive and less deadly,' said researcher Mariam Zachariah, from Imperial College London.

Sadly, as temperatures continue to rise, scientists say that floods like this could become even more common in the region.

'Climate change is no longer a distant threat,' said Roshan Jha, Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai.

'With every fraction of a degree of warming, the atmosphere can potentially hold more moisture, leading to much heavier downpours, and catastrophic floods like these.'

Authorities have so far found the bodies of 55 people following the natural disaster, amid fears that many more will be found as search and rescue operations get underway.

Terrifying footage shows a tsunami wave of flood water crashing through a town, sweeping away everything in its path in the mountainous Rasuwa region of Nepal.

In Tibet, one clip showed the Gyirong Port land crossing being annihilated by the flood.

Dozens of people were seen running away in terror seconds before the water and mud crashed into the structure and wiped it out.

There are fears that a second flood may send Nepal, Tibet and neighbouring India into further chaos.

Flood alerts were issued in the populous northern Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar as they border Nepal and several rivers flow down the mountains into their plains.

Nepali officials said hundreds of tourists and trekkers are unaccounted for, made up of 341 foreign nationals and at least 93 Nepali citizens.

Among the unaccounted are 12 from the UK – including a 13–year–old girl – 105 Indian nationals, four from South Africa, 17 from Malaysia and three from the United States.

One each from Australia and the Netherlands are also unaccounted for.
